Women make assumptions about men’s personality traits and behaviors based on pictures of their penises, study finds

Think again before you send a picture of your genitalia to a woman. A recent study shows that women make assumptions about men’s personality traits and behaviors based on pictures of their penises. According to the study of Thomas R. Brooks & Stephen Reysen, girth, length, and amount of pubic hair are criterias that women look to make assumptions about men’s personality.

Study shows that wider and longer penises with trimmed pubic hair are associated with positive personality traits. On the other hand, neuroticism is associated with narrower and shorter penises.

For the study, 24 different penis pictures were used. All pictures were varied in girth, length, and amount of pubic hair. The penis pictures were found on Reddit forums. 106 college students viewed the penis pictures and they were asked to evaluate them.

Results show that stereotypical penis pictures were viewed as more attractive and also strongly associated with being good at sex, being sexually active, agreeableness, and openness to new experiences. Stereotypical penises was moderately associated with neuroticism and being a “pleaser.”

The study also shows that men with narrow penises were viewed to be more neurotic. In contrast, wide penis pictures were viewed to be more sexually active, better in sex, more open to new experiences, more of a pleaser, and have had more sexual partners. Results of wide penis pictures were very similar to the stereotypical penises’.

According to the study, short penises were associated with neuroticism. Long penis pictures were viewed as attractive, sexually active, better in sex, and more open to new experiences compared to shorter penises.

Regarding pubic hair, “fully shaved” and “not trimmed at all” penises are perceived as negative by most college students. Study shows that a happy medium when it comes to manscaping is much better for women.

Conclusion of the Study

“Due to the increase in digital sexuality in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic and subsequent lockdowns, the present study aimed to understand the personality and sexual impressions formed when observing a picture of a penis. The study was conducted to test and confirm four hypotheses: (1) that prototypical penises were perceived to be more attractive, as well as more socially desirable; (2) that girthier penises were perceived to be more prototypical and attractive; (3) that longer penises were perceived to be more prototypical and attractive; and (4) that penises with trimmed pubic hair were perceived to be more prototypical, attractive, and conscientious. The finding suggest that the perception of a person’s penis contributes to a socially shared, theory of a person’s personality.”
