Turkey warning from Greek ex-minister to Mitsotakis: We must take Erdogan’s words seriously

The fact that Greece put radar locks on Turkish jets performing mission flights with S-300s increased the tension between the two countries. President Erdogan warned Greece, which has recently accelerated its provocations against Turkey, “We may come suddenly one night.” These words of President Erdogan would cause panic in Greece. Again, Greece, which chose the way of complaining to Turkey, almost threatened Europe. Greece’s former Defense Minister Apostolakis warned Mitsotakis about Turkey…

Harassment against Turkish F-16s with S-300s was the last straw. The Greek provocations received a very harsh reaction from President Erdogan. “We’re not playing games, we’re talking serious.” President Erdogan said, “We may come suddenly one night,” warned. President Erdogan’s words caused panic in Greece.

Evangelos Apostolakis, who served as the Chief of General Staff and Minister of Defense during the rule of the Radical Left Alliance (SYRIZA) in the main opposition in Greece, made evaluations about the recently escalating tension in Turkish-Greek relations in a program he was a guest of on SKAI TV.

Erdogan: “We are not playing games, we are talking seriously.” Noting that he gave the message, Apostolakis said, “We should know well that we need to take these things seriously.

Apostolakis noted that they should not remain silent, but that his country should be careful.

Apostolakis, who argued that Athens should reveal with clearer messages that it will not compromise its sovereign rights, said, “It is extremely risky to argue that Erdogan speaks like that because of the situation in Turkey’s domestic politics. Turkey acts methodically and strategically.” he said.

On the other hand, Greece continued to complain about Turkey.

Athens sent letters of complaint yesterday to NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg and the EU’s top diplomat, Josep Borrell.

A similar letter was sent to the UN Secretary-General, Antonio Guterres, and Maria Theofilis, the Greek representative at the UN.

In the letters, it was claimed that Turkey provoked Greece. He used scandalous phrases.

According to the news of the Politico website, in the last letter signed by Greek Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias, it was claimed that Europe would face the risk of “a new Ukraine” if Turkey’s aggressive rhetoric towards Greece is not stopped.
